Daniel received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ohio State University in 1989. He spent 3 years practicing general small/exotic animal care in the Washington, D.C. area before entering emergency practice in 1992. He has since been focusing on emergency medicine exclusively, first in Alexandria, V.A. and most recently at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Cincinnati. His special interests lie in critical care and exotic animal medicine. Daniel is a Cincinnati native and alumnus of Walnut Hills High School and Miami University.
Douglas Hoffman, DVM
Doug received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ohio State University in 1993. He practiced small animal medicine in Cincinnati for 5 years before leaving general practice for emergency medicine. Enjoying the challenges of critical care medicine, Dr. Hoffman practiced for two years at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Cincinnati before helping to create the CARE Center, where his special interest is trauma care. Doug is a native Cincinnatian, graduating from St. Xavier High School and Xavier University.
Sharmila Ruparel, DVM
Dr. Sharm Ruparel received her B.S. and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. After school she worked in a day practice in Toledo, Ohio for 3 years before moving to Cincinnati to work in an emergency clinic. She worked there for 3 years before moving to Northern Virginia to again work in a day practice. While there, she realized she was spending her days at work seeing scheduled appointments but her real interest was with the emergency cases coming in after hours. She spent many a night taking care of those patients! She decided at that time to move back to Cincinnati where she went back to her real interest, emergency cases. In 2000, Sharm, along with her 3 partners, opened the C.A.R.E. Center where she is the Head of the Emergency Department
Julia Delikat , DVM
Dr. Delikat was raised in Avon Lake, Ohio and went to Miami University. She graduated from Miami in 2004 with a Major in Zoology and minor in Neuroscience. She then went to The Ohio State University for veterinary school and graduated in 2008, she completed a rotating internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists in June 2009. She currently lives in Maineville OH with her fiance, Nick who just graduated from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. We live with our furry family consisting of Heidi, 5 year old female Lab mix, Chase, 7 year old male Greyhound, Gonzo, 5 year old male Domestic Shorthair, Martini, 5 year old female domestic shorthair, and Olive, 3 month old female domestic shorthair.
Heather Freudenberger , DVM
Dr. Freudenberger began her professional career as a Veterinary Technician in 2000. She then went to the University of Kentucky where she studied Livestock Diseases and worked as a Lab Technician. Heather then worked for the next few years in an Equine Hospital in her native Lexington, Kentucky. While she was working she acquired her Bachelor of Science: Biology from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky and then proceeded to Auburn University where she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2007. Her special interests lie in imaging, soft tissue injury, and repair, emergency and critical care as well as advances/new developments in preventive medicine. She lives in Cincinnati with her 2 dogs.
Jessica Hamilton, DVM
Dr. Hamilton is originally from Charleston, WV. She obtained her undergraduated degree in biology from Minot State University in 2004. She went on to obtain her veterinary degree from North Carolina State University in 2008, following which she completed a year-long rotating internship at VCA Aurora and Berwyn Animal Hospitals outside of Chicago, IL. Her interests include surgery, pain management, and emergency and critical care medicine. She resides in Cincinnati with her two dogs, a Boxer named Brodi and a Great Dane named Izzy.
Linda Hays, DVM
Dr. Linda Hays grew up on a small family farm outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. As an avid 4-Her, she spent the majority of her summer vacations taking care of and showing many animals, both large and small, at the county fair. One of her most cherished memories is winning first place with her beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Penney, at the Ohio State Fair. After earning her undergraduate degree in biology from Hanover College, she moved to Massachusetts to continue her education. She graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Dr. Hays then completed an internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists located near Detroit. Dr. Hays is excited to be returning to the Midwest to be closer to her family and her many pets (1 dog, 6 cats, and 2 birds) that currently reside on the family farm.
Savannah Hoying , DVM
Dr. Savannah Hoying is originally from Lebanon, OH and received her BS in Biology from the University of Dayton in 2006. She then went to veterinary school at The Ohio State University where she worked at the CARE Center as a technician's assistant during her final two years. After receiving her DVM in 2010, she returned to the CARE Center as an emergency veterinarian. Aside from work, Savannah and her husband, Mark, enjoy spending time with family and friends, kayaking, fishing, and playing sports. They live in Dayton with their two playful dogs, Odus and Cooper.
Jesse Strong, DVM
Dr. Strong is originally from Newport, KY and received her BS in Environmental Science from the University of Cincinnati in 2000. She then worked at the CARE Center as a receptionist and technician's assistant before heading to Columbus for veterinary school a few years later. Jesse received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2009. She then returned to the CARE Center as an emergency veterinarian. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, and her 2 dogs, 2 cats, ball python and bearded dragon.

We employ only the most qualified Veterinary Technicians and assistants to provide our patients with the best critical care. All our Veterinary Technicians attend all required Continuing Education training and maintain a current Ohio State license. We also have a board-certified emergency and critical care veterinary nurse working on-site on a regular basis.
