Michele is one of three Cincinnati natives who has returned to practice at the CARE Center. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ohio State University in 1993. She completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Oradell Animal Hospital in Oradell, N.J. before returning to OSU as a small animal surgical resident. Upon completing her residency in 1997, Michele received her Board Certification in Small Animal Surgery in 1999. Since 1997, she has been practicing surgery at the Garden State Veterinary Specialists in New Jersey. Dr. Muldoon is a graduate of McAuley High School and Miami University. Michele has a special interest in orthopedics, especially canine total hip replacement.
April Durant, DVM
April received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ohio State
University in 2005. She completed a small animal general medicine and
surgery internship at the Hollywood Animal Hospital in Hollywood,
Florida in 2006. After her general internship, she then completed a
surgical internship at Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center in Dallas,
Texas in 2007. She then moved to Knoxville, Tennessee to complete a
research fellowship and three year surgical residency at the University
of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine. April completed her
surgical residency in 2011 and will be taking her board examination in
January 2012. Her interests include reconstructive surgery, fracture
repair, minimally invasive surgery and interventional surgery for
tracheal collapse. Dr. Durant is available to see surgical patients on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Steven Schrader, DVM, DACVS (Orthopedics and Neurosurgery)
Steven graduated from Iowa State University in 1975. He then completed an internship and surgical residency at the Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York City where he went on to become senior staff surgeon and head of the orthopedic and neurosurgical services. In 1987, he joined the faculty of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (Small Animal Surgery) at The Ohio State University. Dr. Schrader has given well over 100 presentations throughout the U.S. and abroad, is the author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters. He has been recognized on numerous occasions for his clinical teaching ability and, in 1986, Dr. Schrader received the New York City VMA's Outstanding Service Award for his work in referral service.
