Michele is one of three Cincinnati natives who has returned to practice at the CARE Center. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ohio State University in 1993. She completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Oradell Animal Hospital in Oradell, N.J. before returning to OSU as a small animal surgical resident. Upon completing her residency in 1997, Michele received her Board Certification in Small Animal Surgery in 1999. Since 1997, she has been practicing surgery at the Garden State Veterinary Specialists in New Jersey. Dr. Muldoon is a graduate of McAuley High School and Miami University. Michele has a special interest in orthopedics, especially canine total hip replacement.
Steven Schrader, DVM, DACVS
(Orthopedics and Neurosurgery)
Steven graduated from Iowa State University in 1975. He then completed an internship and surgical residency at the Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York City where he went on to become senior staff surgeon and head of the orthopedic and neurosurgical services. In 1987, he joined the faculty of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (Small Animal Surgery) at The Ohio State University. Dr. Schrader has given well over 100 presentations throughout the U.S. and abroad, is the author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters and is currently writing a book on diagnosis of lameness in dogs and cats. He has been recognized on numerous occasions for his clinical teaching ability and, in 1986, Dr. Schrader received the New York City VMA's Outstanding Service Award for his work in referral service.
Susanna Hinkle Schwartz, DVM, DACVS
Susanna Hinkle Schwartz is a Cincinnati native who has returned to the area to practice at the CARE Center. Susanna graduated from Cincinnati Country Day School in 1993, and then headed east to Tufts University in Boston for her undergraduate schooling. After graduating Tufts, Susanna returned to Ohio for veterinary school at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2001. Dr. Schwartz next performed a one-year internship in Boston at the Angell Animal Medical Center, leading to a three year combined residency at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and Angell Animal Medical Center. After completing her residency, in 2005, Dr. Schwartz accepted a six-month position at Tufts University as an orthopedic faculty member and, during that time, studied for and successfully completed her board certification. After receiving her board certification, Dr. Schwartz returned to her hometown of Hyde Park to join the CARE Center. Dr. Schwartz has special interests in orthopedics, arthroscopy, and hepato-biliary surgery, and is also focused on teaching.
